We had a great time on the island. Everything was perfect. Kent and the crew really have everything figured out for their guests. No hassles, laid back island time. We will be coming back next summer for sure

We stayed in the A-frame cabin for our 2-day fishing trip. Was just what we needed... private place to spend the night with a dock for our boat. Would recommend this off-the-grid experience to anyone. Great host and experience.

What a beautiful gem 1BSI is!!! Kent, Heather and crew are so kind and welcoming. They’ve got this whole thing figured out giving you the time to relax and enjoy. When we had a kiddo boo boo incident, they were on it immediately and did everything possible to ensure that we had what we needed. The a frame was perfect, the island and the lake are stunning and the peace and quite is so rare and incredible. Thanks Kent and family for letting us share a piece of your heaven!

1BSI is such a special place! My husband and I discovered it last summer, ('25) when we stayed in the A-frame cabin. Since then, my husband returned in April '26 and stayed in Oaktagon, and we both came back this week (June '26) and stayed in Nautilus. Each structure is wonderfully different from the other, making you feel as if you are on a different vacation than the previous time. What is the same is the amazing support and spirit of Kent and Heather and their staff, who are always there if and when you need them. When you are on the island, you can turn off the noise and static of urban living (or you can stay online if you want to!), and enter a world where all there is to do is swim, kayak, rest in a hammock, cook on a grill, and count the stars. The vibe is playful but also simple, quiet, and above all, peaceful. It really is an oasis, perfect for those, like me, who enjoy camping but want just a bit more comfort, cleanliness, and support than you have when on your own. Treat yourself and go!

We had an absolutely phenomenal time at Big Island at the Aframe abode. We brought our two month old baby as his first hybrid camping experience and it was just perfect. So nice to not have to bring all the cooking utensils, bedding, towels, all the extras. We just packed our clothes and our food, everything else was provided!! Kent and Heather are so helpful and welcoming, as were all crew we encountered during our stay. We will be making this a tradition!!

Definitely a unique stay! Felt very private and safe. If you're looking for totally off grid, with the ability to charge your phone, this place is for you. Having our own dock and private space was nice. Sunset rock is worth the walk! And being able to even see the sunset through the trees around the Aframe was incredible!
