Pet-Friendly Island Dome on Lake w/Free Kayaks

I loved staying at Hemlock Haven, it was absolutely beautiful. Great place to unwind and spend time in nature. Kent and Heather are wonderful and made sure I had a 5 star experience and stay. I will be back for a third time!

This was a once in a lifetime experience that we will never forget! The view, the accommodations, the activities, were absolutely stunning & perfect. I could not have asked for a better weekend to close off the summer. Will 100% be returning!

Our time on 1BSI will be a memory we'll cherish dearly forever. Kent had the canoe we requested waiting on shore and the paddle out to 1BSI was easy. He welcomed us and our dog to the wonderful glamping yurt that has everything you will need from a cozy bed, towels, extra blankets, fresh water, fire wood, all cooking utensils, a grill, etc. The trails around the island were fun to explore and the view of the sunset and stars from the Hemlock Haven dock were unforgettable. Though the island had other guests during our stay we weren't able to tell. If you're reading this, book your stay! We are already plotting our return back to 1BSI!

Beautiful piece of paradise! We had an incredible and peaceful stay and plan to come back. Kent was a great host and made sure to fully accommodate our every need!

The experience of staying in a tent on an island among the trees, and the birds is sublime. Everything one needs is provided, except for food, the accommodations were plush, considering we were alone in the woods. The hosts were wonderful about communication and helpful and proactive. We can’t recommend this place more.

The island was private, quiet, and peaceful. The host ensured that you had everything you needed and never made you feel like a bother. Great location and I highly recommend this place.

I cant say enough on this magical Island and amazing host. We always try to go back at least once or twicw a year. They are always open for recommendation for a better stay for guest. You can tell how much love, effort, and care they put into making sure that each and every guest are taking care of and enjoy the island stress free. An amazing experience that seems to get better each time.

Kent and Heather have the logistics of island glamping figured out! Even getting all of our gear on the ferry and then up to our campsite was a cinch (and thanks to the carts provided, you don't have to carry a thing!) <br/>Just bring food, a swim suit, some layers of clothes, and you'll be set! They provide fresh water, towels, bedding, batteries for charging, fans, and the especially important big spray and sunscreen!<br/>Best of all, you can really see and feel all the care and passion that goes into making One Big Sustainable Island so special. <br/>Hemlock Haven as perfect for me and my husband. We enjoyed our dock and the hammock. <br/>Friends who were also staying on the island hosted large group gatherings and meals at the Oaktagon and A Frame sites. Our group enjoyed watching the bald eagles, ospreys, herons, Ioons, & seagulls thrive on the lake. We took advantage of the various paddling options and floated along by the docks.<br/>We are so grateful to have stayed at 1BSI & can't wait to return!

Kent was an excellent and responsive host. We appreciated all of the details beforehand so we knew what to expect. The island was beautiful with lots of special touches like hand painted signs and hammocks throughout. We loved the tent and how well prepared everything was for us. Kayaking and canoeing was beautiful. We plan to be back!
