Loon Point is a front-row seat to one of Maine’s most iconic performances. Perched above Annabessacook Lake with sweeping 270-degree views, this island tent overlook is serenaded daily by loons — calling across the water at dawn, echoing at dusk, and occasionally laughing you to sleep. It’s a stay shaped by their rhythms, where mornings begin with mist and music and evenings end with the lake settling into quiet loon conversation.

Have you ever thought to yourself, “I would love a unique camping experience, but don’t want the hassle of packing everything, remembering everything, setting up and tearing down everything. Wish I could just bring my clothes and food!”? Impossible, right? Wrong!! Not only does Kent provide everything you need, he is also one of the kindest, most thorough hosts!
The island… wow! Loons fishing and serenading you, spectacular sunrise and sunset views, clear waters, peace and quiet, comfortable bed, heater, grill, Adirondack chairs.
I painted multiple pictures, read my book, practiced yoga and meditation, swung in the hammock, dipped my feet in the water, went for walks with my dog. (Oh yeah, your dog will love the island, too)
Anyway, if you have any doubts about booking, just toss those away along with the stressors in your life. Book the island, find your inner peace and breathe in the fresh Maine air!
Everything was as expected from the beautiful listing and other glowing reviews. Note: the water provided was super fresh and sweet almost from stone wells. Ample supply and Kent was super responsive when we needed more. We will hopefully be returning to 1BSI.
A must-visit for a relaxing camp/glamping trip on the water. The tent was above and beyond. Having kayaks all weekend was fantastic, and we even got the enjoy the meditation dock since the water was still too cold to swim. Kent provides everything you need, just brings your food & clothes and you’ll be golden! We’ll be coming back, it was a lovely stay!!
This was by far my favorite Air BnB experience. We met Kent at the dock where he had a canoe ready for us to paddle to the island! We could have taken the ferry, but choose to canoe. He even offered to take our gear out to the island for us!
When we arrived at camp is was clean and stocked with everything we could need. There was even a dog bowl and toy for my dog!
Kent was responsive and available throughout our stay.
We took a cold dip and had the luxury of hot showers after.
Also….. can we talk about the compost toilets!! Ingenious and designed by local high schoolers for efficient, environmentalism, and cleanliness.
Kent had a great dog as well!!
All around a amazing stay, and we will most definitely be back at Kents earliest connivence. It’s a shame I cannot rate it past 5 stars. 100/10!!
This was my second time staying on 1BSI and it was stunning!! Kent continues to make the stay as easy as possible for guests. The views are amazing as always. 10/10 recommend!
Kent was a stellar host and did a great job making the campsite comfortable. Would love to come back, this was a beautiful place and a lot of fun to experience!
A beautiful spot, a wonderful opportunity to get away
One of the most magical places Iv ever stayed in..
Thank you for being so attentive and welcoming..
I am forever grateful for being able to have had the opportunity to stay on such a beautiful island..
Typically you never interact with the owners at your stays. It was amazing how above and beyond Kent will go to make sure the guest have a 5 stay stay! We definitely want to come back when the new floating Airbnb is completed.
Great stay!
