Loon Point is a front-row seat to one of Maine’s most iconic performances. Perched above Annabessacook Lake with sweeping 270-degree views, this island tent overlook is serenaded daily by loons — calling across the water at dawn, echoing at dusk, and occasionally laughing you to sleep. It’s a stay shaped by their rhythms, where mornings begin with mist and music and evenings end with the lake settling into quiet loon conversation.

What a magical place! The loons! The owls! STAY HERE!
This spot was fantastic. Booked at the last minute and received all of the information I needed quickly. Everything we needed was supplied at the campsite and when we asked for additional items they were given to us quickly! It is one of four campsites on an island so it is not totally private but very secluded. The actual site was wonderful to stay at as well.
The Loon's Nest site was just as fantastic as expected! The view overlooking the water was wonderful, we were provided with everything we needed to be comfortable, and Kent was very attentive and responsive. A truly wonderful place to unwind and enjoy nature!
Amazing time at Loon’s nest site. Everything was perfect. Super clean, well organized, and comfortable. Kent is an amazing host and responds quickly. We will definitely return.
This visit was exceptional in every way. Kent was so kind and generous. It was a very glamorous cano set up and we’re already starting to plan our next visit!
This was an absolutely spectacular place to stay. The view and accommodations were even better than we expected and you will not find a more amazing host than Kent. We cannot wait to visit again!
We had an awesome time relaxing on 1BSI — a perfect visit and we’re already hoping to return next year.
Kent is a gracious host and provided so many amenities to make our stay stress-free and fun! We really appreciated the potable water supply, kitchen basics, propane grill, firewood, ice replenishment, and several canoes and kayaks available.
The overlook tent was sturdy and sheltered, felt secluded but not isolated, and provided an amazing view of the lake. It’s also close to the swimming dock and one of the two bathrooms on the island.
Highly recommend this location but if you need more structure than a tent, the other listings on the island come with the same perks and look amazing too!
Thanks Kent!
When my boyfriend and I first booked this place we were a little nervous because it was our first time camping but Kent (the host) was very attentive and made sure we were ok. The place had everything we needed like a pot and a pan, dishes, utensils, mugs. The tent was very spacious and the bed very comfortable. We used the grill to cook dinner and also used the kettle for coffee. The view was breathtaking. We got to see a double rainbow right in front of our tent. It was very peaceful. During our last day we got a couple hours of rain and the tent stayed dried. No leaks. It also got windy and made it a little difficult to cook and to start a fire but we made it work. Our 5 month old golden retriever loved swimming in the lake. The water was very clean.
We loved it so much and that we’re already planning to go back soon.
Wonderful! Great hospitality. Kent is fantastic and so is the island!
Beautiful spot, great fishing, dark sky, and cozy accommodations…look no further.
This is our first visit here, but it won’t be our last. Until we see you again 1BSI!
