Glamping Lakefront Island Retreat w/ Kayak & Pet-Friendly

Top notch!

We really enjoyed our stay at 1BSI.<br/>The tent and bathrooms were clean and comfortable and had everything we might need for our glamping visit. It was a beautiful evening to walk around the island, swim, watch the sunset and sit around a campfire.<br/>Since most of the other sites were not in use we had a chance to take a look at the other accommodations which were all unique. I’d highly recommend choosing any of the sites for a getaway. <br/>Since there were canoes available we loaded our dog (super spot for dogs) and headed back to the dock in the morning while Kent delivered our luggage.<br/>Kent and his partner were very accommodating, friendly and prompt and the logistics to getting out to the island were simple. <br/>We just wish our stay was longer!

Despite a forecasted hurricane, Loon’s Nest was peaceful and a beautiful place to unwind, relax, and reset! The accommodations were comfy and just what we needed for a weekend away. Kent is an awesome host! We will be back soon.

They say dog is man’s ( woman’s) best friend . I wanted to plan a vacation for our dog, Buddy. In doing so, I found the place I’ve been looking for all my life. To see him enjoy running, swimming and lounging, with no worries about preditors, or automobiles made me the happiest girl in the world. I couldn’t stop humming, “ I’m in heaven” My husband had the best night’s sleep in years, (yes, in a tent) and caught and released so many fish. Let me tell you about the one that got away!!!! Thank you Kent, Heather, Chloe, and all the rest of the team that makes 1big sustainable island possible. It wasn’t just an Airbnb, it was an experience. Looking forward to going back next year!!!

1BSI was a peaceful and relaxing island! Kent was an amazing host, who checked in with us if we needed anything! We brought our mastiff/German Shepard mix dog on the trip with us and he loved it more than we did! The sunsets were beautiful, the water was warm and the weather was perfect! We will definitely be coming back again but staying in a different house to try out the whole island! Kent really had included all the things we would really need!Thank you for an incredible weekend!

this place is magic! Never stayed anywhere like it. It made for a very memorable trip with beautiful sunsets and sunrises and swimming in the lake. Kent has done a wonderful job and goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great time. Well worth reading all his tips and tricks in advance to make the most of your stay!

Absolutely amazing. Everything was perfect, from the point we booked the trip until we returned back to our car and drove back home a million pounds lighter from de stressing. I was able to take my son, my dog and I on a two night camping trip with zero stress, that in itself speaks volumes. Of course I overpacked, you seriously only need to pack clothes and food and beverages-maybe a pair of goggles for your son...but if you forget anything Kent is only a text message away and happy to bring you whatever you need! (Thanks again for delivering wes the goggles Kent!)<br/>Breathtaking views, clean beautiful island, kayaks and canoes available, fishing gear supplied if you forget it, delicious drinking water (so don't pack any!) relaxation hammocks, my son LOVED the rope swing, my dog thought she died and went to heaven! As did I... <br/>Loons calling, eagles flying, absolutely amazing, so lucky we found obsi! Book it you will not be disappointed. We can't wait to return to heaven on earth!

We loved our stay at loon point! Everything looked exactly like the pictures. We had the best spot there was a nice breeze and we didn’t get bothered much at all by the mosquitos . It was great that we had the futon that was set up with sheets and blankets so we had an extra bed. The futon just pulled out to a bed. <br/>The sunset was amazing!! We got awesome pictures and videos . I also go to hear the loons singing for the first time. I think we picked the perfect time to come. The weather was low 80’s during the day and at night high 60’s so our tent was a nice temp. Not cold and not hot!! <br/>We will both definitely be back. I’m hoping to come back with my boyfriend and our new dog. <br/>Kent was the best host as well! He made sure we had everything we needed. He also brought us back extra firewood and water which was very nice. And the well water tasted great too. We loved talking with him and hearing all the stories about the island and the animals around it.

This island is remarkable, and we will be planning another stay next summer. Thank you to Kent, Heather, and everyone else that made our stay as lovely as it was. Kent is a standup guy and he will tell you everything you want to know about the island and local affairs. The ferry ride is fun, the toilets smell decent (which is amazing for any toilet), and the amenities are great. Bring bug-spray, good food and booze, and have yourself an amazing stay!
