The Nautilus is a floating love letter to reinvention — a cabin, a tiny home, and a houseboat all rolled into one quietly wonderful idea. Moored beside 1 Big Sustainable Island, it lets you wake to gentle waves at your door, watch the sunrise from bed, and step straight onto a floating porch for morning coffee. It’s proof that with a little imagination (and a lot of care), something old can become something entirely new.

Truly amazing experience!! This was our favorite trip yet, and we will definitely be back next summer :) !
Fantastic place; highly recommend checking it out. If you like swimming / floating / boating / splashing, this place is definitely for you. Cozy, but it has some camping aspects - so this is not for divas.
A unique island/lakeside/camping experience - amazing spot to get away from everyday life for a bit!
The nautilus is incredible! It’s a really peaceful, beautiful spot with lots of privacy and an amazing view of all the lake activity like boaters and eagles. Being able to see wide open sky surrounded by treetops from bed was so nice. And the bed was super comfy! Kent’s hospitality was top notch. He made getting there and back so convenient. We had everything we needed and Kent checked in to make sure we did. The whole island is beautiful to explore with well-marked and maintained trails. We’ll be back!
Excellent stay all around. Loved the space! Kent was great with communicating, and you couldn’t ask for a more unique, relaxing trip. Highly recommended.
Excellent all around. KENT is a super owner – Manager. Thanks so much, KENT.
Truly amazing stay. One big sustainable island is a gem. The nautilus is a great place to stay! We spent the weekend on the water- swimming and canoeing. The grill and fire pit were great! The host does an incredible job of making sure you have everything you need including cooking utensils and plenty of drinking water. The stay was so easy! We took the canoe to get to the island and had our bags brought over to the dock. Couldn’t of been easier! Would definitely come back. Highly recommend this stay for a wonderful adventure!
This is a truly special place and Kent was a truly great host! His communication before the trip was incredible, which both served to prepare us well for this unique location, but it also served to get us super excited to visit this island retreat. He thought of everything that would make our trip seem less: batteries to charge phones, dry fire wood, lots of drinking water, French press and coffee/sugar, etc. Can’t recommend this location, and Kent as a host, enough!
Oh my goodness!! what they have created on this beautiful island is nothing short of magic mixed with peace, and truly the BEST host ever!!! We spent 3 nights at Nautilus and I/ we slept better than ever -- a hotel could NEVER have what they provided us here!y husband had to work and they had more than enough batteries and internet to keep him plugged in when he needed to be and were always available when he needed more! which was a lot but they came everyday with big smiles and the best energy. A 10 star stay and how could I ever put a rating on the fine folks who run this place? I couldn't!! I will just say thank you sooooo much for making this seriously the neatest, and coziest, and amazing trip we've ever had without our kiddo! We will be back and absolutely recommend Nautilus to others looking in the area! thank you!!!! 🤗💝
