The Oaktagon Tree House is what happens when you decide to live with the forest instead of just visiting it. Built around a living red oak (her name is Annie), this octagonal tree house invites you up into the canopy, where birds provide the soundtrack and the lake glimmers below. Perched on a 14-acre island just a half-mile from shore, it’s a place to slow down, look outward through leaves and branches, and remember what it feels like to be held by trees.

1BSI is an amazing getaway where time slows down and relaxation is unavoidable. Kent and Jo are amazing hosts that ensure your stay will be memorable and enjoyable. I look forward to returning again soon!
We had a great stay with Jo and Kent. The house was a really unique place to stay, with the decor and the tree, and of course being on an island. Everything was very clean and well-stocked.
Jo and Kent were a pleasure to interact with. Everything was very well organized. Thanks for the great stay!

We had an amazing weekend at 1BSI. Kent was very accommodating and got us to the island despite our late arrival. The island and the tree house are truly magnificent and the nature is beautiful. We will definitely be back!
From the moment we arrived until we left, we felt so welcomed. The stay itself was a whole experience. It began and ended with a pontoon ride on/off the island.

It was such a unique stay. If you've never stayed on an island by yourself, give this place a shot!
Joanne and Kent were great... We were lucky enough to be the first guests at their amazing place. The island experience is simply unforgettable and we can't wait to stay there again. We enjoyed walking the trails around the perimeter of the island and watching sunrise and sunset, fishing on the canoe, swimming in the lake, and reading on the dock.

The Octagonal home was a great place to make meals and we enjoyed eating dinner out on the porch. Although we didn't barbecue, we took advantage of the outdoor fire pit to spend the quiet nights under the star filled sky.

If you're looking for peace and serenity, a beautiful location, and a destination where relaxation is easy- we highly recommend their home.
