My husband and I decided to honeymoon to this lovely get-away in Maine and it did NOT disappoint!! We stayed in the new Nautilus Floating House and it was a dream to wake up to breathtaking views from our bed every morning. Hiking, swimming, and canoeing filled our day with fun. Kent and Heather were amazing hosts that made sure our stay was top notch. If you’re looking for a peaceful, beautiful, vacation, you’ve found it!!
My husband and I recently stayed in the Octagon House on the island. It was the most beautiful place to relax have fun and get back to nature. Kent our guide was so incredibly kind! He takes you on a boat over to the island and shows you everything. We used the free kayaks and unlimited fire wood. Watched the most gorgeous sun set! It's truly the best experience! Thank you Kent! We will be back next month!
The most relaxing stay on earth. Definitely try the nautilus, it’s really peaceful. A lot of effort was made so that you feel like you have a private island. Loved Kent’s energy - it’s clearly a passion project and we are so lucky to experience it. Highly recommend!
One Big Sustainable Island is one of Maine's treasures that's taken care of by the kindest people. It was an incredible experience to stay here and experience island life. Kent, the host, is incredibly attentive and will provide everything you need for a comfortable stay. Be sure to ask him about the history of this place.
1BSI is super impressive. Kent and his crew work incredibly hard to provide a unique and comfortable stay. They are always available and responsive to anything you need. Every site is different, but all have the same wonderful accommodations. 1BSI is truly something to behold. The craftsmanship of the sites on the island shows the true reverence the hosts have of the island and their natural community. Just as advertised! 1BSI was more than a cabin, it was a 2-day adventure for my family and I. We would highly recommend and are looking forward to our next trip back. Kent and Heather (and Kent’s mom!) were fantastic hosts.
My friend and I had a great at time on the island. Highly recommend taking the canoes or kayaks out if you have a calm day. I was able to see an eagle on the neighboring island while paddling
Best experience I ever had with Airbnb! Lots of water activites and peaceful surroundings. If you ever want to disconnect from the urban areas, this is the place you can focus on the nature and yourself! Definitely recommended!
This is by far one of the coolest places I’ve ever stayed. Kent and Heather were the most helpful and friendliest people!! Very dog friendly location.
