Pet-Friendly Island Dome on Lake w/Free Kayaks

My friend and I had a great time staying in the Hammock Haven dome! We appreciated Kent’s suggestions to bring lots of food, warm layers, and little else, as most things such as kitchen supplies and linens were supplied. The compost bathrooms were amazing, and the pump shower was quite the experience! We really enjoyed spending time on the dock, paddle boarding, cooking over the fire, and otherwise relaxing. Of course, as the space is amongst nature, we faced some swarms of insects, stormy weather, and other difficulties, but Kent and the whole team on the island were very helpful and responsive when we requested support. I’d definitely come back for another round of relaxation!

Very isolated place which exactly what we wanted! This is pure nature and you have all the tools you need. We felt like found our little utopia here. Peaceful and calm days, it is hust a break from our daily lives. We lived that place and will come back for sure!<br/><br/>

Our stay at One Big Sustainable Lake was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The property is even more beautiful in person — peaceful, thoughtfully designed, and surrounded by the most gorgeous natural scenery. It truly feels like a hidden escape where you can completely relax and disconnect.<br/>What impressed us most was how seamlessly sustainability is incorporated into the experience. Nothing feels sacrificed for the sake of being eco-conscious; instead, the sustainable elements actually make the property feel more intentional, special, and connected to its surroundings. You can tell an incredible amount of thought and care has gone into every detail.<br/>The lake setting was stunning, the atmosphere was incredibly peaceful, and the entire stay felt both elevated and comfortable. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to slow down, enjoy the view, and stay a few extra days.<br/>We left feeling completely refreshed and already talking about when we could come back.

We had a wonderful time canoeing and grilling and thoroughly enjoying the island. There was plenty of privacy and the hosts were so responsive, when we had left a phone at the dock before departing for the island, Kent ferried it over to us! Loved this experience thanks

Our stay was wonderful. We had the chance to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and catch our breath for a few days. I highly recommend staying on 1BSI, it was the perfect balance of feeling isolated while not feeling like you were properly in the middle of nowhere making fire with sticks. The perfect place to listen to the water, watch the birds, and sit by the fire.

1BSI is exactly as presented in the listing. Kent is so helpful and answered the questions I needed help with before I booked. Plenty of helpful instructions leading up to our arrival.<br/>Unlike normal camping, you don’t need to bring every little thing with you. Most necessities are provided, so one less thing to have to think about. Just bring your own food and drinks!<br/>Everything went smoothly and we enjoyed the calm environment. What a lovely place to stay!

Ken and Melissa were exception hosts on Island, very welcoming and attentive to our stay. Melissa's grand daughter was a charm! <br/>The location is excellent, secluded and yet very adaptable for our needs. <br/>Friendly advise and welcoming emails.<br/><br/>Better communication with the powers that be. We used the link of address on our car gps and ended in the yard of a private home a mile away ( we confirmed address twice).Meanwhile once we finally found the loading site, we had to scurry around in a unfamiliar area that sold food through a google search, we eventually located one ( after 2 unsuccessful locations) that sold hot dogs and rolls. We rushed to meet the ferry at the designated time with minutes to spare. Only then did we learn that the ferry would pick us up if we were late. <br/>Upon leaving, I requested instructions on how to. Only to find later in reviewing my texts that Instructions were issued, however, when Melissa and Ken arrived we were not packed up and ready. They were understanding and helped us put it all together while other guests remained patiently for departure. <br/>CONSTRUCTIVE COMMENT: have ONE email document that addresses all concerns. e.g- Useful Phone Contact Number, A recommendation of a grocery provision store close by or at least a recommendation to supply up before. <br/>The email should also include Departure Location Mainland, Departure Instructions from Island. Several different subject emails, sent separately, regarding such basic details is a big hassle!<br/>

We enjoyed all the amenities! Kayaking/canoeing, beach front, trails, sunrise/sunset and compost bathrooms. We got their in the rain but made the most of the wood stove and finished the trip with beautiful sunny weather<br/><br/>N/A<br/>

Beautiful spot on a peaceful island. The sunsets from the deck are beautiful! The bed is very comfortable. Bring clothes and food and they provide everything else you need. I do recommend an extra battery-operated fan with extra batteries as the dome can get warm. (There is a fan provided but an extra may be a good idea during the hot months). My dog and I really enjoyed our stay!
