Loon Point is a front-row seat to one of Maine’s most iconic performances. Perched above Annabessacook Lake with sweeping 270-degree views, this island tent overlook is serenaded daily by loons — calling across the water at dawn, echoing at dusk, and occasionally laughing you to sleep. It’s a stay shaped by their rhythms, where mornings begin with mist and music and evenings end with the lake settling into quiet loon conversation.

The island was such a cool experience! Beautiful setting, docks, hammocks, and well stocked tents. The hosts provided helpful instructions and it’s really nice that they provide gear carts and provide drinking water.
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the tent which was very comfortable. Slept well on the bed. Felt very safe. The tent location seemed really great cause you essentially get your own private little beach. We took advantage of all the things available on the island. We canoed our stuff over to the island ourselves to round out the experience. That was fun. Took about 20-25 min from the dock to the shore of the tent. They cleaned our tent and we were able to check in a little early. We enjoyed the barbecue, fire pit, sauna, the ability to have a hot shower (have to work for it but that’s part of the charm of this place). Kent was very informative and gave lots of information leading up to the trip. Also was there in person, super kind and fixed the igniter on the grill so we could cook our dinner. The meditation docks all had hammocks on them. Would have loved to have one empty to chill on or yoga on. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again
What an exceptional place to stay. We only had one night but everything had been thought of, we just turned up with food and drink and enjoyed the experience. We canoed around the island and saw a bald eagle, swam in the lake which was lovely and warm. The peace and quiet was so relaxing. The fire pit and star gazing was a highlight too. Kent was a perfect host, I’d highly recommend.
Loon Point was a dream come true. We felt as though we were the only ones on the island. A tranquil lake swim out to the hammock to watch and listen to the loons swim and hunt for a late afternoon snack. We also enjoy listening to their chatty conversations. Fishing and watching the sunset felt like something out of a movie especially after catching a 16in bass. The morning sunrise was worth the 5am wake up and then being able to look out and see the calm lake glisten as the sun rose was truly breathtaking. We definitely made amazing memories and look forward to our vacation next year. Thank you to Kent and Heather for preserving and taking care of this island for all of us to visit and enjoy.
