Loon Point is a front-row seat to one of Maine’s most iconic performances. Perched above Annabessacook Lake with sweeping 270-degree views, this island tent overlook is serenaded daily by loons — calling across the water at dawn, echoing at dusk, and occasionally laughing you to sleep. It’s a stay shaped by their rhythms, where mornings begin with mist and music and evenings end with the lake settling into quiet loon conversation.

Our stay was exceptional! I grew up in the woods by the lake. With lots of loons! Finding this gem brought me right back to the peaceful nature I've been craving. The perfect stay for getting back in touch with the simple things- watching the sunset, cooking over a fire, kayaking, lounging in hammocks, getting a great night's sleep, and, of course, listening to the loons. I felt right at home!
From our spot on Loon Point we could see both the sunrise and sunset. We had our own private beach and everything but the food was provided

I have no complaints
I am still in awe of the start-to-finish highly organized, proactive, & amazingly communicative experience at 1BSI thanks to Kent & Heather. While there are others staying on the island, they’ve somehow managed to make it feel like you are on your own island paradise getaway. Before arriving, Kent shared detailed information on everything they offer (down to the silverware and can opener) as well as what we’d need to bring. The tent was immaculate; the bed comfy; the view breathtaking! I especially loved our private beach and the floating dock with hammock right off the shore. They conveniently have a dock a few yards from the tent for easy access to the boat & easy drop off/pick up of gear. Kent & Heather always helped us get whatever we needed in a very timely manner. The trails on the island are very well maintained & great for evening/morning strolls. The rope swing was a fun addition! Bathrooms are constantly cleaned & have no smell. Can’t wait to come back! Thank you 1BSI team!
In our short stay we swam, canoed, napped in hammocks, went fishing, walked the trails, and enjoyed the sound of loons on the lake. Exceptionally well thought out site, amenities and friendly and responsive host. We would definitely return and spend more time!
Relaxation, restoration and peace like no other peace you will find. This gem of a place exceeded our wildest expectations. Kent and Heather are so easy going, on top of communicating, running the ferry, and providing provisions as needed. The kitchen provisions beat out many airbnb I have experienced who have electricity and running water. We had a double rainbow, beautiful sunsets, fireworks, met Sam the snake sat within 2 feet of a hummingbird feeding on the flowers, enjoyed canoeing and just walking the island. Having a hot shower was oh so good there and the bathrooms exceeded expectations. You will not be disappointed if you book a stay here even if you aren’t an outdoorsman. We hope to return! Thank you for letting us book a last minute stay when we were in a pinch for accommodations.
1BSI was absolutely incredible. What a gem. The amenities and construction of all the little places on the island were so thoughtfully planned out. Our stay was amazing - the tent was spacious and had everything we needed for our weekend. The grill, tea kettle and outdoor fire were perfect for our cooking needs. It was very convenient to be able to kayak right up to our place and keep our boats right on our little private beach. There was SO much wildlife to see and truly felt like an island retreat. Thank you to Kent, his partner and his crew for making us feel at home and being so responsive and attentive if we needed anything at all. We definitely will be returning. If you're thinking about booking 1BSI DO IT!!!!!
A fabulous, relaxing stay! We will definitely be back!
Kent is the man.
beutiful space they have there. will be coming back . kent is the best host
It was an incredible experience, we loved everything, starting with the attention and care of Mr. Kent, and his wife, for the place that is very beautiful and quiet, my children had a lot of fun, we just couldn’t enjoy it anymore because we got a rainy day, but we still liked the experience of camping on an island. Thank you for everything 💕
