The Oaktagon Tree House is what happens when you decide to live with the forest instead of just visiting it. Built around a living red oak (her name is Annie), this octagonal tree house invites you up into the canopy, where birds provide the soundtrack and the lake glimmers below. Perched on a 14-acre island just a half-mile from shore, it’s a place to slow down, look outward through leaves and branches, and remember what it feels like to be held by trees.

All I can say is wow. This has exceeded my expectations. The place was bigger than I expected with such a peaceful inviting atmosphere. Great memories made in such a short period of time. We can’t wait to return, and try out each of the accommodations of the island!
We had an amazing stay! Kent’s place was exactly as described and more! Would love to come back and stay longer!
My wife and I booked a stay in the Oaktagon. For our one year anniversary and it was absolutely perfect. The peace and tranquility was exactly what we were looking for. The island provided plenty of activities between paddling, hiking, swimming, and our favorite lounging. Host were super helpful and pleasant. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle and reconnect with nature this is the place to go. Five out of five stars will go again.
The owner is supper friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The treehouse was clean and super inviting, relaxing and surrounding area was breathtaking. This was my first stay at this getaway and I will be returning.

Nothing it was perfect!
We had such a peaceful and relaxing time in the Oaktagon. The kiddos miss it already! We enjoyed paddling on the lake in the canoes and splashing in the water. We hung out for an afternoon on the meditation dock to enjoy swimming and a picnic. Both kiddos delighted in cannonballing off the dock too!
Kent was a gracious and funny host. We look forward to coming again!
This was truly a unique stay. We boated out to the private island where we enjoyed a peaceful stay at the Octagon which had everything we needed. The deck was amazing. The location was amazing nestled amongst the trees with a short path to the water with a private dock and breathtaking views. We kayaked around the island and fished right off our dock. We truly enjoyed our restful retreat and the hospitality of the hosts.
This place is incredible and dog friendly. Highly recommend.
Certamente eu voltaria.
One Big Sustainable Island was an experience my wife and I will never forget. It is not like going to a hotel, this is a unique stay you will never forget. Eventhough it rained most of the time we found it very peaceful and relaxing. It was just what we were looking for; a getaway where we were forced to chill out and relax and just spend time with each other. We can't wait to go back.
Exactly what we were looking for! They had everything we needed to enjoy a peaceful, quiet place to escape to!
