1 Big Sustainable Island truly is a labor of love and it shows. Kent and his team put a lot of effort and thought into this slice of heaven and we are lucky to be able to enjoy it. Dave and I loved our time here on Loons Point. Out pup was very happy exploring the trails too. We made the most of it even though we had a lot of rain and heavy winds, but listening to those nature sounds from inside the tent is magical. Kent is very attentive and accommodating and replied to our messages very quickly. We felt like we had the island all to ourselves even though there's a few more sites, but they are all very private. We will be back next year, probably earlier in the season so we can enjoy swimming, kayaking, gazing at the stars and listening to the loons at night.
We didn’t have the getaway we expected due to a veterinary emergency, but can’t wait to visit the island again! Kent was an incredible host & when we had to go back to shore at 7pm to get our pup to the vet, he was there ASAP & got us back to our car in an impressive amount of time. We loved the tent and the island itself and look forward to visiting in the future. 1BSI is a truly special place that Kent has put a lot of work into making relaxing, easeful, and fun. Everything has been thought of & it was super easy to get help if and when we needed it. I’d recommend any of Kent’s stays for a truly unique experience.

Loon point was a perfect tranquil getaway. Everything you need and more was stocked and clean. The island was well maintained the bathroom and shower was always spotless. Trent and the staff were nice and helpful i would definitely recommend 1BSI if you love peace and nature! We will definitely be looking for a stay next year.

Another 10,000/10 review for 1BSI!!! It’s clear how much love Kent and crew put into the island to keep it accessible, clean, and ready to camp! Seriously- like the description says, all you need is food and clothes. Incredible views (sunrise and sunset), lovely loon tunes, endless swimming, hammocking, and relaxing. Perfect spot for families and pups- they even left some treats for the 4 legged member of the family. We already can’t wait to return!
For me, my husband and small dog, this place was just the right balance of rustic and being pampered for. Camping with unlimited water to drink and firewood to burn felt like a luxury. Property management was welcoming supportive and communicative.<br/><br/>There’s a learning curve to operating the shower that involves a little more effort than turning one dial to on or off.<br/>
